Born in 1971, holder of a license of film studies, Jean-Christophe Soulageon begins a (quick) director’s career in 1996 with Only to the World (15 ‘, 35mm). Then he became press assistant and production manager on short film productions and associate producer in different companies.
In 2002, he founded «Les Films Sauvages», where he produced about 50 shorts, from fiction to experimental and animation formats (A Woman Alone 24’ documentary, Prize of the jury Clermont-Ferrand 2005, Paul 8’ animated documentary, Youth Price Huesca 2006, Carrier of Men 2010, which was selected and won awards in many festivals around the world, Daphné or the Beautiful Spécimen 2014 awarded in 20 festivals).
He also produced or co-produced some feature films (Insurrection / Resurrection 2004, Blank 2010 selected in Pusan). The last one, The Girl Without Hands, from Sébastien Laudenbach, opened the Acid Selection in Cannes 2016, and has been released in France (by Shellac) on 14th of December, and will be screened in North America (by GKids) in 2017.
The philosophy of the company, is to try to follow author’s inspirations and implications, more than to follow an eventual trend of fashion.
