Alex Sherwood

Co-founder and Creative Director at Giant Animation

Alex is co-founder and creative director at Giant Animation. He studied Animation at Ballyfermot College of Further Education, where he met Sean Mullen, Ben Harper, and Daniel Spencer. Together they set up the studio in 2011.

Throughout the company’s development, Alex has worked in all areas of the animation pipeline on a diverse range of commercial and in-house projects. His work on Giant’s short films has garnered him many awards for the studio, including Best Animation at the 2015 Galway Film awards for his Co-Directed psychological thriller Geist.

Between 2014 and 2016, Alex co-directed Giant’s first children’s TV show with Ben Harper called Go Jetters. The 52 X 11 show was created for Cbeebies and BBC Worldwide, and co-produced by Giant and Boulder Media.

Alex is currently developing Giant’s slate of in-house content to bring to market, the first of which will be Giant’s first original TV Series called Creepers, a 26 X 22 monster mystery show.
